Oppal no longer running in this riding will make a difference; also there is an ethnic factor considering the strong Chinese character of this part of Vancouver – Gabriel Yiu might have a better chance than one would otherwise expect. Yiu has previous media experience, and has business experience, and has local influence on the riding.
Kash Heed is a parachute candidate, and the previous police chief of West Vancouver; he stepped down to run for this election, but has been dogged by two police complaints that can no longer be investigated by virtue of him no longer being involved with the police anymore.
