Final count begins today.
The biggest change for the seat count has been in Cariboo-Chilcotin, where BC Liberal candidate Donna Barnett leads NDP candidate Charlie Wyse by 59 votes, with 977 absentee votes still to be counted in Cariboo-Chilcotin. According to Elections BC, the 82-vote difference after the recount was attributable to calculation errors made at one voting station.
With 977 absentee ballots remaining, Charlie Wyse needs a 6.04% absentee ballot vote spread in the absentee vote in order to catch up. He obtained 5.57% in the 2005 election. It is now more likely than not that Donna Barnett will win the election, although it is still not a slam dunk by any means. Statistically it may come down to less than 10 votes.
[Please note an earlier version of this post accidentially used Cariboo North's numbers instead of Cariboo South - the performance difference in absentee ballots between the NDP and BC Liberal candidate was 7.35%.]
There is really no point in hitting the “refresh” button at this point since the only result that matters is when all the ballots are completed. If the result is within 1/500 of the votes being cast in the electoral district, there is a mandatory judicial recount.

Vicki is ahead in Delta South by 13 votes now.
