Legislature Trivia – Longest serving MLA?

Posted April 26, 2009 by Sacha Peter - Link
Category: Legislature Comments Off

After the May 12, 2009 election, who will be the current member in the legislature with the record of serving in the longest?

The answer is Richmond East MLA Linda Reid. She will have served 18 years in the legislature, from 1991. She is also the last MLA standing from the BC Liberals that was elected in 1991.

North Vancouver-Lonsdale MLA Dan Jarvis also was elected since 1991, but he is not running again this election.

There were NDP MLAs that were elected in 1991, but all of them were not elected in the 2001 election.
