The Public Eye Online guru, Sean Holman, is looking to raise $3000 of capital. If I was the NDP, I’d be giving him a few bucks before the February 13, 2009 spending limits start kicking in since Holman has been a serious thorn to the government, frequently linking together relationships between government appointees and their connections to the BC Liberal party.
One wonders why the NDP can’t do this themselves.
I’d certainly hope Sean will disclose the source and amount of every donation he gets for this campaign so that we all can hold him to the same scrutiny that he holds the politicians. Somehow, I doubt that will happen. After all, there are no rules of transparency when it comes to media …
If he’s doing it for electoral purposes, $3,000 is coincidentally the limit he can spend in any one electoral district. And will be disclosed after the election when third parties have to file their expenses.
It will come as no surprise to hear that I’m not raising the money for electoral purposes. After all, I’m a journalist. And Public Eye Online is a media outlet.
